The Goal
Improve the accessibility of SeniorTix, a website that aggregates senior citizen discounts on events, outings, and activities.
Who was interviewed
I wanted to observe things from the standpoint of users with visual impairments to gain a better understanding of how to design the site. I observed as the users navigated through the homepage on SeniorTix. Both users had forms of visual impairments that were simulated to help identify accessibility issues.
After completing the user interviews, I summarized the findings to capture the main insights.
User persona
To make sure I was designing for the right user, I made a user persona that embodied all users.
Accessibility Issues
Card Redesign
While observing our users, I identified several accessibility issues with the card components.
I decided to tackled these first, as they affected most users, and are a key component to using SeniorTix.
Hi-fidelity and Design decisions
How successful were our designs to users?
I carried out a final usability test to with my users to measure success by having them work through the page checking behavioral metrics of user experience.
Users were able to view the information clearly without visual limitations
